about - meName: Scott Newman

D.O.B: 8 Nov 1987

Location: Bridgwater, Somerset, England

E-Mail: webmaster@innovacious.co.uk

Occupation: Looking for work

Qualifications: HND Software Development, BND Computing, Lower Second-Class Honours Degree in Applied Computing (2:2)

Bio: Gamer, computer nerd, introvert, grumpy old man at heart. I spend too much time staring at monitors, hoping to find work in software development to get a chance to stare at a multitude of other monitors for a change. Started on this path back in the 90s with an Amiga 500 and a Commodore CDTV, strayed off once, wanting to be a mathematician/accountant of some sort, but that was just a phase.

I enjoy a wide range of game genres, grew up with a lot of platformer and point n click style games. Hate almost all games under the sports and music genres, except Audiosurf, for some reason.

Dont watch much english TV, mostly just Top Gear (cus im: manly, a man, grrr, etc.) and stand up comedy shows.

About – The Site

I bought the domain orignally just so that nobody else would. Never really had any plans for it that went any further than a brief idea when im surfing the net. Over the years, it was supposed to be the home to:

  • A portfolio of my art
  • A site dedicated to music and my old band
  • A forum for… god knows what (it actually existed, and was open to the public at innovacious.co.uk/forum, but i never bothered with it)
  • A homepage for a WoW guild i was in
  • A portfolio of my software development work
  • Fansites for various different games n whatnot
  • Various different incarnations of blogs

Until now, nothing was every worthy enough to get past an “under construction page”. The art portfolio was an exception, but it was kept hidden away in a sub-domain and never made it to the light of day.

The blog: The blog code is an open-source project from wordpress.org (not to be confused with wordpress.com, same blog, but wordpress.com deals with the hosting for you and is slightly more restrictive). On top of this i use a custom theme, origanaly created by ulyssesonline.com called black letterhead. I modified the theme a bit because im too lazy to create my own from scratch.
